Iqbal Ah Srinagar, October 3: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha graced the Founder’s Day celebration of Devki Arya Putri Pathshala Srinagar at Tagore Hall, lauding the institution’s profound contribution to providing quality education to girls from economically disadvantaged backgrounds since its inception in 1910.

In his address, Lt Governor Sinha emphasized that a nation’s strength lies in its knowledge, culture, and values. He stressed that educational institutions should prioritize instilling human values, knowledge, and social consciousness in young minds to help shape their future and, consequently, the destiny of the nation.

Lt Governor Sinha drew attention to India’s historical role as a center of learning and underlined the need to reclaim the position of Vishwa Guru (world leader) in education. He highlighted that education in schools should promote excellence, ensure equal access, contribute to building a knowledge society, and prepare students for global competitiveness.

During the Founder’s Day celebration, the Lt Governor commended the pivotal role played by Smt. Veena Chandhok, Chairperson of Devki Arya Putri Pathshala, as well as the school’s Principal and teachers, in guiding the growth of the century-old educational institution.

Lt Governor Sinha also urged society to actively participate and support such virtuous endeavors, creating a conducive environment for students to unlock their full potential, develop their talents, and achieve their life goals.

Smt. Veena Chandhok, Chairperson of Devki Arya Putri Pathshala, shared insights into the school’s journey and accomplishments over the past 112 years.

The Founder’s Day celebration featured a captivating performance by Santoor Maestro Sh. Abhay Sopori, along with soulful prayers and a display of martial arts by the school’s students.

Ms. Yusra Mushtaq, Principal of DAPP, teachers, parents, guardians, and students were also in attendance at the event.
