Senior leader of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, Ajeet Bhagat, has called for an investigation into the alleged violation of agreements by Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited (CVPPL). Bhagat specifically highlighted concerns related to large-scale discrepancies involving substandard materials used in Hydroelectric Power Projects and questionable backdoor appointments.

Addressing the issue, Bhagat emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the reported violations, expressing worry about the rising unemployment among the youth in Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban Districts of the Chenab Valley Zone. He drew attention to the significant engagement of youths in Dul-Hasti and Baglihar Hydroelectric Power Projects until 2014.

Currently, with major projects such as Pakal-Dool, Kiru, Kawar, and Ratle underway, Bhagat noted a disconcerting trend of unrest among unemployed youths. He attributed this to the alleged management strategy of Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited (CVPPL) and the principal employer, aiming to maximize profits by minimizing manpower.

Bhagat raised concerns about the companies involved in these projects engaging fewer workers, possibly for increased profit margins. He also pointed out suspicions of the principal employer, Chenab Valley Power Projects Limited (CVPPL), receiving substantial commissions from the project managements, potentially to conceal any misdeeds. The demand for a thorough probe reflects the seriousness with which Bhagat views these reported violations.
