New Delhi, Jul 29 (BuzzBytes): Amid mounting opposition pressure in Parliament over allegations of police excesses and pellet gun use against protesting students, Union Home Minister Amit Shah held two significant meetings with senior officials and Union ministers over the last 24 hours to review the security situation, law and order, and the government’s road ahead. The meetings, sources said, were held on Tuesday night at Parliament House at a time when the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) accused the government of reneging on assurances given after the recent protest and threatened to revive nationwide agitation. In the first meeting, Amit Shah met Intelligence Bureau Director Mahesh Dixit and Union Home Secretary Govind Mohan. The meeting discussed the overall security situation arising out of the students’ protest, intelligence reports received from various states, the law and order situation, and the political fallout of the agitation. Sources said the Home Minister was also briefed on the controversy generated by the alleged use of pellet guns by security personnel during the Delhi protest, an issue that has drawn sharp concern from opposition parties as well as human rights organisations. Opposition parties are demanding that Amit Shah make a statement in Parliament clarifying the allegations of excessive force and police action against the student protesters. In the second meeting, Shah met Union Health Minister and BJP national president J.P. Nadda and Union Minister Jitendra Singh. This meeting reviewed reports of student unrest and protests continuing in different states and discussed the government’s steps to handle the situation. Nadda and Jitendra Singh had played a key role in talks and negotiations with CJP representatives during the peak of the protest in the national capital. The organisation has accused the government of reneging on assurances that no disciplinary action would be taken against students who participated in the protest. CJP has warned that if cases registered against students are not withdrawn and those allegedly detained are not released, a fresh round of protests could begin across the country—(BuzzBytes)

PM Modi to Launch Nationwide “Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan” on August 2; Over 1 Crore Youth to Take Pledge
100-week Jan Bhagidari movement against substance abuse to run at nearly 10,000 locations every Sunday

BuzzBytes News Desk
New Delhi, Jul 29 (BuzzBytes): In a major step towards realising the vision of a Nasha Mukt Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the “Nasha Mukta Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyaan” on August 2, 2026, calling upon the youth of the nation to lead a people’s movement against substance abuse through the spirit of Jan Bhagidari. Responding to the Prime Minister’s call, the campaign will be launched as a nationwide mass movement led by MY Bharat, with active participation from youth across the country. The initiative seeks to unite young citizens in a collective national mission to build a drug-free India by promoting awareness, community engagement and sustained public participation. Inspired by the Prime Minister’s address, nearly 10,000 locations across the country will organise simultaneous pledge ceremonies, with more than one crore youth participating in the Nasha Mukti Pledge, reaffirming their commitment towards a drug-free society and dedicating themselves to nation-building as Nasha Mukta Yuva Volunteers. The campaign will witness participation from MY Bharat Volunteers, MY Bharat National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers, Youth Clubs, schools, colleges, universities, non-governmental organisations, industrial associations, and over 125 spiritual organisations, making it one of the largest youth-led public movements against substance abuse in the country. Unlike a conventional awareness programme, the Abhiyaan has been conceptualised as a 100-week sustained Jan Bhagidari movement. Every Sunday over the next 100 weeks, youth-led activities will be organised across the country to encourage healthy lifestyles, strengthen community engagement and channel the energy of young people towards constructive nation-building. The weekly activities will include sports competitions, walkathons, meditation sessions, cultural programmes, art and creative competitions, nukkad nataks, awareness drives and other community engagement initiatives aimed at sensitising society about the harmful effects of substance abuse. Volunteers and organisations making outstanding contributions will be honoured at the 50th, 75th and 100th week milestones. Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Dr Mansukh Mandaviya has appealed to young people and social organisations across the country to join the Prime Minister’s call in the national interest and become active participants in this historic movement. Guided by the message that “Drug-free youth are the greatest strength of Viksit Bharat,” the campaign seeks to carry this national resolve to every village, town and city, further strengthening India’s journey towards Viksit Bharat 2047. The nationwide launch comes even as districts across Jammu and Kashmir have this week intensified their own anti-drug drives under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, with several Deputy Commissioners chairing NCORD meetings and youth outreach camps across the Union Territory—(BuzzBytes)
