Jammu, September 30, 2023:
In a recent public gathering at the BJP headquarters in Trikuta Nagar, Jammu, senior BJP leader and former MLA Ashwani Sharma underscored the remarkable strides made by the Modi government over the past nine years in reducing the divide between urban and rural areas. Sharma also emphasized the significant benefits that have accrued to the farming community during this period.

Speaking to the media during his weekly public gathering, Ashwani Sharma reiterated the government’s commitment to improving rural infrastructure, especially road connectivity, recognizing that rural areas are home to a substantial population of farmers who rely on agriculture for their livelihoods. He noted that substantial efforts have been made to alleviate the financial burdens on farmers, including subsidies on fertilizers, seeds, insecticides, and farming equipment. Sharma also highlighted the annual financial assistance of Rs. 6,000 provided to farmers through the ‘PM Kisan Samman Nidhi’ scheme.

Addressing the crucial issue of irrigation for crops, Ashwani Sharma called for effective measures to desilt and enhance the Ranbir Canal and its distributaries. This step, he emphasized, would ensure timely and adequate irrigation for agricultural fields during crop seasons.

During the public gathering, Ashwani Sharma received grievances related to various departments, including Fisheries, Housing Board, PDD, and GREF, along with concerns regarding road construction, lanes, drains, and the regularization of Special Police Officers (SPOs). He assured citizens that these issues would be promptly addressed by liaising with the relevant departments for swift resolution.

The event at the BJP headquarters provided a platform for citizens to voice their concerns and seek assistance, reflecting the commitment of Ashwani Sharma and the BJP to engage with the community and work towards enhancing the quality of life for residents in urban and rural areas alike.
