BuzzBytes JAMMU 02 December:

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has emphatically reiterated its commitment to the reservation of the Gujjar Bakarwal community in Jammu and Kashmir. Er. Gulam Ali Khatana, Rajya Sabha MP, asserted that there would be no dilution in the reservation provided to the Scheduled Tribe (ST) community.
Addressing the media at the party headquarters, Khatana, accompanied by former Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh, former MP Choudhary Talib Hussain, BJP General Secretary Sunil Sharma, BJP senior leader Devinder Singh Rana, ST Morcha President Ch. Roshan Hussain, and senior ST leader Arshad Choudhary, highlighted the Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s assurance that the 10% reservation granted to the tribal community would remain intact.
Khatana praised the Narendra Modi government for taking a historic decision to grant reservation for the socio-economic upliftment of the ST community in Jammu and Kashmir. He recalled PM Narendra Modi’s commitment during a rally in 2013 to deliver justice to discriminated and deprived sections, specifically mentioning the STs.
Addressing concerns about misleading information, Khatana emphasized that there is no question of diluting the reservation for STs, urging the community to trust the BJP. He accused certain elements and political parties of spreading false propaganda, asserting that the BJP genuinely cares about the dignified living of the STs.
Choudhary Talib Hussain echoed the commitment of the BJP to the welfare and development of all sections in Jammu and Kashmir, especially tribal and backward ethnic tribes. He called upon the Gujjars and Paharis to strengthen unity, solidarity, and peaceful coexistence, emphasizing that socio-economic growth and development depend on a strong democracy and equal opportunities for all.
