In a press conference in Jammu, BJP leader Gulam Ali Khatana, along with prominent party members, emphatically reassured the ST community of the party’s unwavering commitment to reservation policies. Khatana highlighted that there will be no dilution in the reservations provided to Gujjars in Jammu and Kashmir.
Citing Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s assurance to a Tribal community delegation, Khatana underscored the Modi Government’s steadfast commitment to preserving the 10% reservation granted to them. He emphasized that the BJP in J&K stands firmly in alignment with the central government’s dedication to this cause.
Khatana recalled the historical decision by the Modi Government to grant reservation to the ST community in Jammu and Kashmir, addressing their socio-economic upliftment. He denounced false claims circulating among STs about potential reservation benefits denial, asserting that the BJP remains devoted to protecting their interests without any dilution.
Appealing to the ST community’s trust, Khatana urged them not to be misled by misinformation propagated by other political parties. He emphasized the BJP’s genuine concern for their dignified living, asserting that the party is committed to safeguarding their rights.
Choudhary Talib Hussain echoed this commitment, emphasizing the BJP’s dedication to the welfare and development of all sections of the population in Jammu and Kashmir. He called upon Gujjars and Paharis to strengthen unity and peaceful co-existence.
Highlighting the importance of a strong democracy, Hussain expressed confidence in the Constitution and leadership for ensuring equal socio-economic development irrespective of caste, creed, and religion. The BJP’s resolute stance on reservation policies takes center stage, promising continued efforts for the upliftment of marginalized communities in the region.
