BuzzBytes New Delhi, November 23:
In a groundbreaking move to enhance exports and empower micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India, has entered into a strategic collaboration with e-commerce giant Amazon. The partnership aims to leverage the “Districts as Export Hubs” initiative, fostering a connection between local producers, particularly in rural areas, and global supply chains.
Under the memorandum of understanding (MoU) signed with Amazon, the DGFT and the e-commerce platform will jointly conduct capacity-building sessions and workshops for MSMEs in districts identified as export hubs. This initiative aligns with the Foreign Trade Policy 2023 and seeks to enable Indian exporters to showcase their ‘Made in India’ products to international customers. The first phase of collaboration will focus on 20 identified districts, with discussions ongoing with other major e-commerce platforms for similar partnerships in different districts across the country.
