Hajin: Youth in Hajin town of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district held a candlelight march on Wednesday evening to protest against the killing of retired army personnel Manzoor Ahmad, who was shot dead in a militant attack in Kulgam on Monday afternoon.
Scores of youth took to the streets, holding candles aloft as they marched through the town, denouncing the violence and calling for an end to civilian killings. The protesters emphasized that such acts of violence go against the principles of humanity and must be condemned universally.
The march commenced from Hajin’s main market, passed through key localities, and concluded at the Tehsil office. Protesters expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives and extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families.
“This is not just a loss for one family but a collective tragedy for society. Violence only brings pain and suffering,” said one of the participants.
A candlelight vigil was also held in the Ajas area to protest against the killing of ex-serviceman Manzoor Ahmad, who was shot dead by terrorists on Monday.
