Delhi’s Air Quality Remains ‘Very Poor’ on Thursday

On Thursday morning, Delhi continued to grapple with ‘very poor’ air quality, registering an air quality index (AQI) of 324, according to the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR-India).

CPCB data recorded at 6:00 am highlighted varying AQI levels across different locations in the city:

  • Anand Vihar: 387 (very poor)
  • ITO, Delhi: 343 (very poor)
  • Wazirpur, Delhi: 422 (severe)
  • RK Puram: 415 (severe)

Additionally, at 7:00 a.m., the recorded AQI at Okhla Phase-2, Delhi, stood at 406, categorizing it as ‘severe.’

The Air Quality Index is categorized as follows:

  • 0 to 100: Good
  • 100 to 200: Moderate
  • 200 to 300: Poor
  • 300 to 400: Very Poor
  • 400 and above: Severe
