Deputy Commissioner Pulwama, Dr. Basharat Qayoom, led a crucial meeting aimed at revitalizing and preserving the district’s historical architecture and heritage. The gathering, comprising key officials and experts, focused on coordinating efforts for the meticulous restoration of earmarked archeological sites.
In the comprehensive review, Deputy Commissioner Qayoom emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in formulating Detailed Project Reports (DPRs). The committee, assembled by the Government for this purpose, was urged to work seamlessly to ensure the success of the restoration initiatives.
Highlighting the significance of historical accuracy, Dr. Qayoom underscored the need for archeological restoration grounded in photographic evidence, literary sources, and thorough documentation. These, he asserted, would be the cornerstone for the successful revival and preservation of the district’s archeological sites.
A concrete timeline was established during the meeting, reflecting the commitment to expedite restoration efforts. Attendees included ADC Pulwama, ACD Pulwama, CPO Pulwama, Exen R&B, officers from the Archaeology Department, and other District officers.
The District Level Coordination Cum Implementation Committee is now set to propel the district’s rich heritage into a new era, ensuring its legacy for future generations.
