South Kashmir, Dec 13, Buzzbytes: Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, Director of the Sericulture Development Department (SDD), led a comprehensive field visit to Mulberry Farms, Blocks, Nurseries, and Offices in South Kashmir today. The purpose was to oversee the operational aspects of the department and ensure the growth of Mulberry Farms and Nurseries to foster the production of high-quality mulberry foliage.
During the visit, Director Ajaz Ahmad Bhat highlighted the importance of readily available Mulberry Plant material for Silkworm Rearers in the region, particularly in preparation for the upcoming Silkworm Rearing Season. Stressing the critical role of Mulberry Farms and Nurseries, he underscored the need for seamless accessibility to support the sericulture community in the area.
In addition, Director Bhat urged the field functionaries of the Department to focus on expanding Mulberry plantations by utilizing vast expanses of available land in South Kashmir. This strategic move aims to enhance the overall productivity of the sericulture sector and contribute to the economic development of the region.
