The District Bandipora Thang Ta Championship 2025 was successfully held at Baba Gani Public School, Shadipora from 20th to 21st August 2025. The two-day championship witnessed enthusiastic participation from young athletes across the district, showcasing their skill, discipline, and sportsmanship in the traditional martial art of Thang Ta.
Organised under the inspiring theme “Yes to Sports, No to Drugs”, the event was spearheaded by Mr. Sahil Bashir, with the aim of promoting healthy lifestyles among youth and steering them away from the menace of drug abuse.
The championship featured multiple categories of competition, providing a platform for budding martial artists to demonstrate their talent and learn the values of determination, discipline, and teamwork. Students, parents, and sports enthusiasts turned up in large numbers, adding vibrancy and spirit to the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Sahil Bashir emphasized the importance of sports in channelising youth energy in the right direction. He further highlighted that martial arts not only build physical strength but also cultivate mental resilience and moral character.
The closing ceremony concluded with prize distribution to winners and participants, appreciating their efforts and commitment to the sport.
