Shopian, January 23: In a recent development, District Development Commissioner (DDC) Fazlul Haseeb chaired a pivotal meeting to assess the advancements of projects funded under the Rural Infrastructure Development Fund (RIDF) by NABARD in the Shopian district.Rouf Ahmed Zargar, the DDM NABARD, presented a comprehensive overview, revealing that a total of 66 projects with a combined outlay of Rs. 266.46 Cr are currently in progress. These projects encompass a spectrum of sectors, including rural roads, bridges, water supply schemes, primary health centers, irrigation and flood control works, fruit mandis, and initiatives under Sheep/Animal Husbandry.During the meeting, various aspects, including fund flow and the timely submission of Project Completion Certificates and Utilization Certificates, were discussed. DDC Fazlul Haseeb emphasized the importance of adhering to NABARD’s timelines and urged executing agencies to expedite project completion.Additionally, Haseeb directed line departments to submit Detailed Project Reports (DPRs) for a minimum of two projects under NABARD’s new 137 project activities. A thorough, project-wise discussion ensued to accelerate both the physical and financial components of the ongoing initiatives.Executive Engineers were specifically tasked with speeding up the pace of project execution. DDC Haseeb also underscored the need for executing agencies to maintain close liaison with line departments, ensuring timely updates on project status and proper monitoring.The meeting witnessed the presence of key officials, including DDM NABARD, CPO, CAO, CHO, AD, Planning, and Ex-Engineers from R&B, PHE, and Irrigation departments, highlighting the collaborative effort to drive the success of these crucial projects in Shopian.
