Srinagar, January 18:l In a crucial meeting, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, orchestrated an array of directives to ensure a splendid celebration of Republic Day. The meeting, attended by officers from Civil and Security departments at TRC, Srinagar, delved into key objectives for the upcoming event.The primary focus was on assigning responsibilities to departments for the seamless participation of staff, students, and citizens in the Republic Day celebrations. Heads of Departments received explicit instructions to ensure active engagement of their staff members at the main venue function.While extending an open invitation to all citizens for the Republic Day function, Div Com underscored the importance of adopting carpooling to mitigate traffic congestion on routes leading to the stadium. To facilitate movement, the appointment of Nodal Officers, identification of parking spaces, and standby positions for snow clearance were deemed essential.The meeting’s directives covered a spectrum of aspects, including the provision of portable water, maintaining clean public utilities, and organizing sanitation drives. Stringent instructions were issued to ensure foolproof security arrangements, involving the active participation of Police and other relevant agencies.Among the attendees were Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Directors of various departments, representatives from J&K State Sports Council, and officers from security agencies. The comprehensive approach discussed in the meeting aims to make the Republic Day celebration a memorable and smoothly executed event.
