Srinagar, Nov 20 — Jammu and Kashmir’s government is contemplating the declaration of an early winter vacation for primary schools across the Kashmir Valley owing to the prevailing cold weather conditions, confirmed officials on Monday.
Principal Secretary of School Education, Alok Kumar, stated that the possibility of a winter break for lower primary classes in the Valley is under consideration due to the dropping temperatures.
Over the past few weeks, the Kashmir Valley has experienced a significant decline in temperature, prompting parents to appeal to the authorities to announce an early winter vacation for the safety and comfort of students.
Earlier today, the Private Schools Association, Kashmir Trade Body, and various other organizations also urged authorities to announce the winter vacation considering the chilly weather conditions.
