Dr Amin

In a visionary move to ensure the efficient and timely delivery of benefits from the Government’s flagship schemes to all intended beneficiaries, the Indian government inaugurated the VIKSIT BHARAT SANKALP YATRA on November 15, 2023. Aptly named “From Path to Perfection,” this ambitious initiative is set to achieve the saturation of key schemes, elevate awareness, and foster public participation for a transformative societal shift.
At its core, the Yatra holds primary objectives, meticulously designed to guarantee timely access to benefits, elevate awareness about government schemes, and empower citizens to actively participate in the nation’s development process. Commencing on Tribal Gaurav Divas, November 15, 2023, the Yatra is scheduled to continue its impactful journey until January 26, 2024.
Instrumental to the Yatra’s success are the IEC vans, strategically equipped with Information, Education, and Communication resources, crisscrossing the nation to reach various locations. These mobile units play a pivotal role in disseminating information and promotional materials about key government schemes, ensuring the “last man in the queue” is reached without discrimination. Commonly discussed schemes include:
Housing:
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) providing pucca houses for the rural and urban poor.
Financial Inclusion:
Jan Dhan Yojana for bank accounts, Mudra Yojana for microloans, Stand Up India for women entrepreneurs.
Sanitation:
Swachh Bharat Abhiyan for cleanliness and toilet construction.
Health:
Ayushman Bharat Yojana for health insurance, Jan Arogya Yojana for free treatment in government hospitals.
Agriculture:
PM Kisan Samman Nidhi for income support to farmers, Kisan Credit Card for loans, PM Fasal Bima Yojana for crop insurance.
Education:
PM Saakshar Bharat Abhiyan for adult literacy, scholarships for higher education.
Empowerment:
Schemes like Ujjwala Yojana for cooking gas connections, Svamidhi Yojana for street vendors, PM Swamitva Yojana for property rights in rural areas.
The Yatra’s scope is nothing short of ambitious, aiming to cover an extensive 2.60 lakh Gram Panchayats and over 4,000 urban local bodies. Anticipating participation from approximately 230 million people, the Yatra has made remarkable progress since its launch. Encompassing 782 districts, 1855 urban locations, and 71,235 Gram Panchayats across 36 states/union territories, the Yatra has become a beacon of civic engagement.
A noteworthy achievement lies in the enthusiastic involvement of nearly 22.4 million people in the Yatra. This robust participation underscores the heightened awareness and engagement of citizens in the nation’s developmental processes, marking a significant step towards collective progress.
As the Yatra unfolds its path to perfection, it not only showcases the transformative initiative but also serves as a platform to discuss and understand key government schemes. It symbolizes a shared commitment to inclusive growth, promising a brighter and more equitable future for the entire nation.
