BARAMULLA: Baramulla district witnessed an extraordinary display of community engagement and awareness as the ongoing Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra unfolded in Sub Division Uri. The Yatra, a comprehensive campaign focusing on enlightening the public about government welfare schemes for holistic development, reached a significant milestone as Secretary of Tourism and Culture, Dr. Syed Abid Rasheed Shah, led the initiative in Boniyar, Subdivision Uri.

The event saw active participation from Sub Divisional Magistrate Uri, Assistant Commissioner Revenue, senior officers, PRIs, and residents from neighboring villages. Various government departments, including Health, PDD, Agriculture, ICDS, and Education, showcased their services, schemes, and facilities through stalls inspected by Dr. Syed Abid.

During the event, the attendees tuned in to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s speech, broadcasted on a mounted LED screen atop an Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) van. Dr. Syed Abid, along with other officers and the public, enthusiastically participated in the pledge administered by the Secretary, urging a commitment to the nation’s integrity and progress.

Dr. Syed Abid emphasized that initiatives like Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra play a crucial role in bridging the gap between the government and the public, fostering closer ties for inclusive development. He highlighted the importance of active public participation in government-run beneficiary schemes such as Ujwala, Ayushman, Jal Jeevan, and other vital initiatives.

Commending the district administration for their relentless efforts in disseminating awareness about these schemes, Dr. Syed Abid reaffirmed the government’s commitment to benefiting every citizen in the district. The Secretary distributed gas connections under the Ujwala scheme, sanction letters, land passbooks, Ayush Cards, and other certificates among eligible beneficiaries, further cementing the impact of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in Baramulla.
