A direct electoral face-off between the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress is anticipated in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh. Meanwhile, regional parties are expected to play a significant role in Telangana and Mizoram.
In Mizoram, the Zoram People’s Movement (ZPM) is poised for a substantial victory, predicted to secure 22 out of 40 Assembly seats. The Zormathanga-led MNF may garner 12 seats, while Congress and BJP are expected to secure 5 and 1 seats, respectively.
Riding the wave of anti-incumbency, the BJP is projected to form the government in Rajasthan, securing 104 seats in the 199-member Assembly. In contrast, the Congress may secure 87 seats, with other parties expected to claim 12 seats.
Madhya Pradesh exit polls forecast a clean sweep for the BJP, with the ruling party expected to secure 130 seats in the 230-member Assembly. The Poll of Polls indicates 98 seats for Congress, despite many of its leaders rejecting exit poll assumptions. Other parties in the state may secure 3 seats.
Chhattisgarh’s poll of polls gives Congress a slight edge, projecting the party to secure 48 out of 90 Assembly seats. The BJP is expected to claim 40 seats, while other parties may secure 2 seats.
Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh reacts to the exit poll results, expressing confidence that his party will secure more than 130 seats in Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan remains optimistic, stating that there is no close fight, and the BJP is set to win.
In terms of vote share, Zormathanga’s MNF is predicted to garner 27%, while ZPM is expected to rise with a whopping 49% in Mizoram. The India Today-Axis My India survey suggests Congress securing 20% vote share, and the BJP may get 2%.

Rajasthan: BJP – 105 to 109 seats; Congress 90 to 94 seats; Others – 14 to 18 seats
Madhya Pradesh: BJP – 140 to 159 seats; Congress – 70 to 89 seats; Others – 0 to 2 seats
Telangana: BRS – 31 to 47 seats; BJP – 2 to 4 seats; Congress – 63 to 79 seats; AIMIM – 5 to 7 seats
Chhattisgarh: BJP – 30 to 40 seats; Congress – 46 to 56 seats; Others – 3 to 5 seats
