Finals of National Youth Parliament Festival to be Held in the Central Hall of Parliament

BuzzBytes 04 March 2024 Delhi:The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports is set to organize the finals of the National Youth Parliament Festival, 2024, with the inaugural ceremony scheduled for March 5, 2024, and the valedictory function on March 6, 2024, in the Central Hall of the Parliament, New Delhi. The theme for this year’s Youth Parliament is ‘Young Voices: Engage and Empower for Nation’s Transformation.’ The festival has been conducted across the country from February 9, 2024, to March 6, 2024, involving 785 districts. The event encompasses three levels: District Youth Parliament, State Youth Parliament, and National Youth Parliament. Eighty-seven state-level winners will compete for the top three positions, and the valedictory function on March 6, 2024, will be attended by Speaker, Lok Sabha Shri Om Birla.The National Youth Parliament Festival aims to strengthen the roots of democracy, instill habits of discipline and tolerance, and enhance youth awareness about parliamentary practices. It serves as a platform for youths to understand the functioning of Parliament, fostering an active citizenry and promoting engagement and participation. The festival also contributes to building leadership qualities among the youth, enabling them to realize their full potential and actively participate in nation-building. The idea for the National Youth Parliament Festival was introduced by the Prime Minister in his Mann Ki Baat address on December 31, 2017. The festival has since been organized annually at the district, state, and national levels.The finals of the National Youth Parliament Festival bring together state-level winners who will showcase their oratory skills and insights on given topics. The event not only promotes democratic values but also encourages youth to actively contribute to the development of the nation.
