Annual 57-day Yatra to conclude on August 28; multi-tier security arrangements in place along the route
Jammu, Aug 7 (BuzzBytes): The annual Amarnath Yatra continued amid tight security arrangements on Friday, with another batch of 926 pilgrims leaving the Jammu base camp for Kashmir in the early hours of the morning, chanting “Bam Bam Bhole.”
According to officials, the fresh batch left the Bhagwati Nagar Yatri Niwas base camp in Jammu at 2:59 am. The convoy comprised a total of 42 vehicles, including 21 buses, and pilgrims were escorted towards Kashmir under strict security supervision.
Officials said that with the departure of the latest batch, the total number of pilgrims who have left the Jammu base camp for the Amarnath cave this season has reached 1,44,439. The figure reflects the continuing significance of the Jammu base camp this Yatra season and the steady arrival of devotees from different parts of the country.
Multi-level security arrangements, including deployment of security forces at various points, monitoring of vehicles and special arrangements for the safe movement of convoys, have been put in place along the entire route from Jammu to Kashmir to ensure the safe and peaceful passage of pilgrims. Authorities have repeatedly appealed to pilgrims to follow prescribed guidelines and cooperate with security personnel.
The annual Amarnath Yatra spans 57 days, and darshan continues at the holy cave shrine. This year’s pilgrimage is scheduled to formally conclude on August 28, during which thousands of pilgrims from different parts of the country continue to arrive at the Jammu base camp and proceed towards Kashmir in successive batches—(BuzzBytes)
