Rani Aiyman:
Once there was a young traveler named Saad who dreamed of reaching a beautiful valley hidden beyond a dark forest. People in his village warned him that the journey was full of dangerous woods, rocky paths, and sharp thorns. Many had started the journey, but only a few had completed it. Even after hearing all this, Saad decided to follow his own dream, not someone else’s.
As he entered the forest, everything looked frightening. The tall trees blocked the sunlight, and strange sounds echoed through the woods. Soon, the path became rough. Sharp thorns pierced his feet, heavy rain soaked his clothes, and he often lost his way. There were times when he felt weak and thought of returning home.
One evening, while resting under a tree, Saad met an old shepherd. The old man smiled and said,
“Every person who reaches the valley has walked through these same thorns. The road is difficult, but every step takes you closer to your destination. Never lose hope. But remember, every traveler has a different valley to reach. Do not walk on a road chosen by others if your heart longs for another. The happiest destination is the one you choose yourself.”
These words filled Saad with courage. The next morning, he stood up with renewed determination. Whenever he stumbled, he got up again. Whenever he felt afraid, he remembered the shepherd’s advice. Instead of complaining about the difficulties, he accepted them as part of his journey.
As he continued walking, Saad met many travelers. Some were climbing mountains, some were crossing rivers, while others were walking through peaceful fields. Each of them had a different destination, yet all were moving toward their own dreams. Saad realized that success does not come from following the same road as everyone else. It comes from choosing the path where your heart, abilities, and passion truly belong.
After many days of hard work and patience, Saad finally reached the beautiful valley. The sight was more wonderful than he had ever imagined. At that moment, he realized that the pain, failures, and struggles had made him stronger, wiser, and more confident. If he had given up halfway, or if he had spent his life walking on a path that belonged to someone else, he would never have experienced such happiness.
This story teaches us that life is also a journey. We all face problems, failures, and disappointments. Sometimes our dreams seem far away, but we should never stop believing in ourselves. Every challenge we overcome makes us stronger, and every step we take brings us closer to our goals.
Parents and elders often dream of a bright future for their children, and their love is priceless. Yet every child carries a different gift within. Some shine in science, some express themselves through the arts, some build their futures through commerce, and others discover entirely different paths. A dream forced upon a child may become a burden, while a dream chosen by the child becomes the strength that keeps them moving, even through the darkest forests.
Therefore, instead of deciding the destination for every traveler, let us help them discover their own valley. Success is not about walking the same road as everyone else. It is about reaching the place where one’s passion, talent, and happiness come together.
Hope gives us the courage to begin. Hard work gives us the strength to continue. The freedom to choose our own path gives us the reason to keep moving forward.
