New Delhi, Buzzbytes December 20, KNT: The Government of India reaffirmed on Wednesday that every individual residing in Jammu and Kashmir is eligible for benefits under the Ayushman Bharat PMJAY-SEHAT scheme.
In a formal statement, Minister of State for Home, Nityanand Rai, informed the Rajya Sabha that the Ayushman Bharat PMJAY-SEHAT initiative ensures health coverage up to Rs 5 lakh per family without any charge. This provision stands irrespective of one’s employment status, thereby encompassing government employees as well.
The primary objective of this initiative is to ensure comprehensive health insurance coverage for all residents of Jammu and Kashmir. Notably, the scheme offers free insurance coverage to all residents. Additionally, it extends financial protection of up to Rs. 5 lakh per family on a floating basis, benefiting approximately an additional 15 lakh families under the PM-JAY extension.
