In a recent Awaam ki Awaaz program, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha rallied various segments of society to actively participate in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra. This expansive initiative by the Government of India aims to ensure the 100% saturation of schemes, extending their benefits to all intended recipients across every Panchayat and Urban Local Body in Jammu and Kashmir.

Reflecting on the progress made in 2023, Lt Governor Sinha expressed satisfaction with the impressive growth and enhanced quality of life in both rural and urban areas. “I see J&K on the move with confidence towards the goal,” he remarked, emphasizing the importance of people’s participation in realizing the objectives of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra.

During the program, Lt Governor Sinha shared inspirational success stories of citizens who have made remarkable contributions. One such example is Sh Munshi Ramji from Udhampur, a senior citizen who ingeniously crafted an e-cycle using old laptop batteries and e-waste, aligning with the Prime Minister’s Vocal for Local and Green India Initiative.

Srinagar’s Sadaf, a successful entrepreneur despite facing disabilities, was commended for her determination and self-belief. Lt Governor Sinha highlighted her story as a source of inspiration for others, urging District Administrations to felicitate and support extraordinary women like Bhaderwah’s Meenakshi Devi, a female e-rickshaw driver embodying Nari Shakti.

Recognizing the entrepreneurial spirit, Lt Governor Sinha praised Ms Pooja of Kot Bhalwal, Jammu, who established her own homemade chocolate brand, ‘Smiley Chocolates.’ He stressed how such initiatives, like Javed Ahmed’s journey as a job creator under the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, contribute to empowering the youth.

The Lt Governor also commended Tariq Ahmed Ganie from Kulgam for his waste recycling unit, a successful waste-to-wealth model generating local employment and promoting sustainability.

Moreover, Lt Governor Sinha acknowledged valuable suggestions from citizens across different regions, directing concerned departments to take appropriate action on inputs received. The collaborative effort aims to foster continued development and address community needs.

In conclusion, Lt Governor Sinha affirmed the commitment to inclusive progress and encouraged citizens to actively engage in the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, marking a significant stride towards comprehensive development in Jammu and Kashmir.
