Greentech Foundation Hosts CSR Summit & Awards 2023 in Sonamarg

In a bid to spearhead discussions and drive initiatives geared towards sustainable Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) practices, the Greentech Foundation successfully concluded its two-day summit at Sonamarg, culminating in the recognition of exemplary CSR efforts.

Led by Kamleshwar Sharan, CEO and Chairman of Greentech Foundation, the summit brought together professionals from diverse sectors, uniting under a shared vision for sustainability.

The event’s final day witnessed the esteemed presence of Shyambir, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, who graced the occasion as the chief guest. The DC highlighted the notable government initiatives in Ganderbal, particularly emphasizing strides made in sanitation projects during Yatra 2023.

Emphasizing the government’s industrial-friendly policies aimed at attracting investments to Jammu and Kashmir, the DC underscored collaborative efforts with industries in the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) mode as pivotal drivers of sustainable development.

Throughout the summit, participants stressed the importance of cultivating a robust safety culture and fostering a commitment to energy conservation, engaging in discussions on best practices and innovative strategies.

Keynote speakers from the private sector shed light on the essential role corporations play in shaping a responsible future.

The event featured workshops and discussions focusing on practical approaches to integrating CSR into corporate frameworks, facilitating knowledge exchange, and offering actionable insights.

The summit lauded outstanding CSR initiatives, inspiring healthy competition in socially responsible practices. The Greentech Foundation expressed optimism about the collective impact of these efforts, anticipating significant contributions to the global sustainability dialogue.

Subsequently, approximately 40 corporates and public sector units were honored for their distinctive and impactful CSR projects, spanning initiatives for marginalized sections of society, women empowerment, disabled rehabilitation, and heritage conservation. Among the winners were Oil India Ltd, IREL, SJVN, NLC, Hindustan Unilever, Adani Port, JSW, SBI, Birla Cement, and others.

The event was graced by the presence of Chief Executive Officer of Sonamarg Development Authority (CEO) Dr. Ilyas Hussain, SDM Kangan Javaid Ahmad Rather, SDPO Kangan Dr. Muzaffar Jan, SHO Sonamarg, and other dignitaries.
