New Dehli:In an unexpected turn of weather events, Kedarnath Dham, one of India’s oldest and most revered pilgrimage sites, has been enveloped in continuous and heavy snowfall since Wednesday evening. The Indian Meteorological Department reports that the minimum temperature in Kedarnath is expected to linger between -16 to -18 degrees Celsius until January 23.This meteorological shift has not spared other key pilgrimage locations in Uttarakhand, including Badrinath Dham, Hemkund Sahib, Valley of Flowers, Rudranath, Niti Valley, and Mana Valley. Even Hanumanchatti finds itself under a blanket of snow following a prolonged wait for winter’s embrace in the Chamoli district. While the IMD anticipates light rainfall in the region, no official warnings or advisories have been issued thus far. The picturesque snowfall has transformed these sacred sites into a winter wonderland, offering devotees and visitors a unique and serene experience. In the midst of this wintry landscape, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has extended a formal invitation to seers at Badrinath Dham. They are invited to participate in the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of Ram Lalla scheduled to take place in Ayodhya on January 22. VHP workers handed over the invitation to the meditating seers at Badrinath Dham, where the seven-day Vedic rituals for the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony commenced on January 16.As the snowfall continues to grace these sacred locations, pilgrims and locals alike are enjoying the rare and breathtaking scenes, creating a spiritual and tranquil ambiance amidst the winter chill.
