Anantnag, Oct, 05, (Buzzbytes) : In a high-level security meeting held in Jammu and Kashmir, key officials from the police, army, and central armed police forces discussed strategies to counter terrorism in the region. The meeting, led by Director General of Police, J&K, Shri Dilbag Singh, emphasized the commitment to eradicating terrorism and ensuring the safety of the people in the region.
During the meeting, senior officers, including General Officer Commanding (GOC) Counter Insurgency Victor Force, Maj General Balbir Singh, YSM, VSM, and other officials, reviewed recent counterterrorism operations, including the successful encounter in Kulgam District where two terrorists were neutralized.
Director General Shri Dilbag Singh praised the swift and efficient operation in Kulgam and commended the dedication and courage displayed by the security forces. He reiterated the commitment to provide a secure environment for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, who have endured decades of turmoil.
The meeting also focused on the utilization of technical and human resources to track and eliminate remaining terrorists. It emphasized the need to monitor and dismantle terror support networks to weaken the terrorist ecosystem in the region.
While acknowledging that the UT has largely remained peaceful, the DGP cautioned against ongoing attempts by Pakistan to disrupt peace and tranquility in Jammu and Kashmir. He directed the security forces to intensify efforts to combat the drug trade, which Pakistan is exploiting to fund terror activities and harm the younger generation in the region.
