Tharad (Gujarat), : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said while the world is grappling with war, unrest, and rising fuel prices, India has managed the situation effectively due to strong foreign policy and the unity of its people, while accusing the Congress of trying to create panic and likening the party to “political vultures” waiting to exploit the West Asia crisis for political dividends.
Addressing a gathering at Nani village in Vav Tharad district of Gujarat, Modi said, “At a time when the world is grappling with war, unrest and rising fuel prices, India has managed the situation effectively due to strong foreign policy and the unity of its people.” He said certain political parties, mainly Congress, are trying to take advantage of the situation by spreading panic and fear, instead of supporting national unity.
“Today, the Congress party is busy inciting the people. Like political vultures, it (Congress) is waiting for the situation to escalate so that it can exploit and reap political dividends,” Modi added. The Prime Minister noted that though fuel prices have risen by as much as 10 per cent globally due to the West Asia conflict, the Central government is ensuring that the burden of this impact does not fall upon people.
“The Congress desires to create an atmosphere of panic in the country, hoping that the people will be forced to queue up at petrol pumps and gas agencies,” he added. Modi asserted that India will emerge as a world leader in the renewable energy sector and said the circumstances in West Asia have affected every country, but India managed the situation well. Continuing his attack on the Opposition, he said they want to spread anarchy. “India is capable of facing any crisis. However, Congress is trying to instigate people to queue up at fuel pumps and spread disorder,” he added.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister inaugurated the Kaynes Technology semiconductor plant in Sanand, Gujarat, marking the commencement of production at the facility. Noting that he was present in Sanand on February 28 for the start of production at the Micron plant and returned exactly a month later for the Kaynes milestone, the Prime Minister underscored the momentum of India’s semiconductor journey. “This is not merely a coincidence, it is proof of the speed at which India’s semiconductor ecosystem is developing,” he remarked.
Congratulating the leadership of Kaynes Technology, the Gujarat government, and all the workers at the plant, Modi expressed pride that an Indian company has entered the semiconductor chip manufacturing space. Highlighting that Kaynes has now become part of the global semiconductor supply chain, he said, “This is a wonderful beginning. In the coming days, many Indian companies, through global collaboration, will give the world a resilient semiconductor supply chain.”
The Prime Minister remarked that today’s milestone truly embodies the mantra of ‘Make in India, Make for the World.’ With the facility supplying Intelligent Power Modules to a California-based company and a large share of its output already booked for export, he noted that a new bridge has effectively been built between Sanand and Silicon Valley. “The modules made in Sanand will reach American companies and from there will power the entire world,” he asserted.
Underlining the strategic significance of the Intelligent Power Modules being manufactured at the facility, the Prime Minister noted that they will strengthen the electric vehicle ecosystem and heavy industry both in India and globally. He described such global partnerships as the foundation for a better future for the world. “This is not just about one product, it is about India becoming a reliable semiconductor supplier in the global market,” Modi said.
On the auspicious occasion of Bhagwan Mahavir Jayanti, the Prime Minister also inaugurated the Samrat Samprati Sangrahalay, a Jain Heritage Museum at Koba Tirth in Gandhinagar. “Koba Tirth is steeped in spiritual tranquillity, a place where the tapasya of so many Jain Munis and saints finds expression, and where creation and service naturally blossom,” said Modi, adding that the preservation of values, the nurturing of sanskaras, and the nourishment of knowledge form the triveni—the confluence—that constitutes the very foundation of Indian civilization.
The Prime Minister expressed his happiness that the timeless knowledge of Jain Dharma and India’s rich heritage are now being preserved for centuries to come through the museum, conceived by saints to present ancient wisdom to the next generation in new and modern forms. He noted that the museum has been thoughtfully designed so that every step reveals the grandeur of India, with its seven galleries proclaiming the nation’s diversity and cultural richness.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to manuscript preservation, Modi said that the Gyan Bharatam Mission has been launched to correct the neglect of previous governments, leveraging technology for digitization, scientific preservation, scanning, chemical treatment, and digital archiving of ancient manuscripts. He also referred to his recent Mann Ki Baat episode, where he spoke about a nationwide survey enabling citizens to upload manuscripts preserved with them. “This campaign will play a significant role in collecting manuscripts scattered across every corner of the country,” he stated.
Earlier, the Prime Minister also appreciated the work being done by Acharya Shri Kailasasagarsuri Gyanmandir towards preserving manuscripts. “I am proud that our nation has many such passionate teams that are at the forefront of this, ensuring that the coming generations remain connected to our rich history,” Modi remarked.
