Raksha Bandhan is celebrated not just in India but throughout the world. This is the festival which celebrates the bond of trust and affection between brothers and sisters. On this day sisters tie Rakhis on wrist of their brothers and in return the brothers promise sisters to always protect them from any evil.
With same feeling in heart, and strengthen love and bond with Indian Army, 75 girls from Orphanages in Bamhama and Kupwara were present on the event at Saran view point and tied Rakhis on hands of soldiers. For the event various NGOs were also present. A team of six individuals from AAMHI PUNEKAR, a team of five ladies working with AAWHAN PALAK foundation alongwith 150 Kg sweets and gifts for Army personnel and locals were present for the event. The event also witnessed guests from KAFILA FOUNDATION alongwith Principal of APS Beas, Director and trustee of Amcha ghar were present with strength of 15 individuals working in close collaboration with various NGOs.
On the event media personnel from 15 agencies were also present and involved in celebration with Armed forces. Guests enjoyed by doing boating, exchanging of sweets and various games played during the event. The programmes of similar nature shall be kept in future to address all cross sections of society which need assistance. Civilians and NGO organisations were thankful to Indian Army for organising games, karaoke and dance events at such a large scale for everyone.
