GANDERBAL, JANUARY 23In a groundbreaking event celebrating innovation in Northeastern India, Union Territories, and Hill States, the Centre for Innovations in Public Systems (CIPS) held its inaugural award ceremony in collaboration with the Government Innovation Lab (GIL), Government of Meghalaya.The event, hosted in Shillong, acknowledged outstanding innovations in Education, Health, Information Technology, and Rural Development. Ganderbal’s innovative project, ‘Mashal-e-Gaash,’ received significant recognition, with Deputy Commissioner Shyambir receiving accolades for this people-driven initiative aimed at promoting literacy.The awards covered diverse fields, highlighting innovations in healthcare, information technology, education, and rural development. Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Guest of Honour Dr. V.K Paul, Member of NITI Ayog, graced the occasion, along with other distinguished personalities.Insightful panel sessions moderated by experts in health, information technology, education, and rural development enriched the event. A Khasi folk dance performance added local flair to the ceremony, and a publication titled ‘Celebrating Inclusive Innovations’ was released, emphasizing the importance of inclusive development.This annual award ceremony, tailored to the unique challenges of the Northeast, aims to inspire creativity and problem-solving to address the region’s distinctive needs, setting a precedent for future initiatives promoting innovation and progress.
