Hajin:A comprehensive awareness programme on HIV/AIDS, followed by a rally under the Intensified IEC Campaign, was organised on Wednesday by the District Health Society Bandipora in collaboration with the J&K AIDS Control Society and Government M.L. Higher Secondary School Hajin.The event was inaugurated by Dr. Nisar Ahmed, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, District Health Society Bandipora. ASHA workers under the District Health Society and students, along with teaching faculty of the host institution, participated enthusiastically to promote awareness regarding HIV/AIDS prevention and stigma reduction.Prior to the rally, participants were oriented on the fundamentals of HIV/AIDS and the objectives of the Intensified IEC campaign by expert speakers including Ms. Sabiha Iqbal, Assistant Director (Mainstreaming), J&K AIDS Control Society,Aijaz Ahmad vice princple GHSH, Dr. Ubaid, Medical Officer, and Dr. Zara, Medical Officer from the District Health Society Bandipora.The programme was efficiently coordinated by Mrs. Fehmeeda Bashir, District ASHA Coordinator Bandipora, and Mr. Parvaiz Ahmad, Block ASHA Coordinator.The awareness rally began from the school premises and concluded at Government Degree College Hajin, where students and ASHA workers raised slogans promoting HIV/AIDS awareness and preventive healthcare.The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Vice Principal of the Institution, who appreciated the efforts of the organisers and participants for their commitment to the cause.
