JAMMU, Sept 23:In a recent development, the Jammu and Kashmir Government has taken the decision to terminate the services of two doctors due to their unauthorised absence from their assigned duties.

Dr. Asim Shameen Zaz, appointed as a Medical Officer, had submitted a leave application for 89 days to attend a marriage function in Canada. However, after the expiration of his leave, Dr. Zaz failed to return to his duties, leading to the termination of his services.

In a parallel case, Dr. Kawaldeep Kour, another Medical Officer, had sought study leave for one year at GMC, Baramulla. Regrettably, she also did not rejoin her duties upon the conclusion of her leave, resulting in the termination of her services.

The orders for the termination of their services were officially issued by Bhupinder Kumar, Secretary to the Government of Jammu and Kashmir. This move underscores the government’s commitment to ensuring the efficiency and accountability of its workforce.
