Jammu & Kashmir Emergency Services Celebrate Milestone: 1000 Deliveries Assisted Since Launch

Jammu & Kashmir, 24th January 2024:In a significant achievement, the 108/102 Emergency Medical Services, operated by BVG India Ltd in collaboration with the Government of UT Jammu & Kashmir, have successfully assisted 1000 deliveries since their inception on 24th March 2020. This life-saving initiative has emerged as a vital lifeline for pregnant women across the region.1. Life-Saving Deliveries: Trained 108 ambulance staff have played a pivotal role in conducting 1000 deliveries, providing crucial support to expectant mothers during childbirth.2. Overall Patient Care: The 108 Jammu & Kashmir Emergency Medical Services have diligently served a remarkable 2,71,801 patients, demonstrating their commitment to healthcare delivery in the region.3. Crisis Response: During the challenging period of the COVID-19 pandemic, the service stepped up to serve 12,111 COVID patients, showcasing their resilience in times of crisis.4.Pregnancy-Related Emergencies: Out of the total patients served, 29% (78,175) were pregnancy-related emergencies, underscoring the essential role played by the emergency services in maternal care1. Highest Pregnancy Cases:District Unhamper leads with 8,665 cases, followed by Rajouri (7,158), Kupwara (4,968), and Kathua (4,881). Srinagar reported the lowest with 981 cases.2.
