In a robust move against illegal mining, Jammu Police has seized 1378 vehicles actively involved in unauthorized mining operations. The process to cancel vehicle registrations associated with these illicit activities has been set in motion with the concerned department.
These seized vehicles were found flouting environmental regulations and posing a considerable threat to the local ecosystem through their involvement in illegal mining operations.
Dr. Vinod Kumar, IPS, SSP Jammu, stated, “The exploitation of our natural resources through illegal mining will not be tolerated.” He emphasized that the actions taken aim to curb such illicit activities and discourage individuals from engaging in practices that harm the environment and endanger public safety.
Jammu Police is actively investigating and taking stringent measures to counter illegal mining operations. Vehicle owners and operators involved in these activities will face the cancellation of their vehicle registrations.
Swift actions are being implemented to ensure the prompt removal of vehicles engaged in illegal mining from circulation, underscoring the commitment to environmental preservation and adherence to legal norms.
