New Delhi, Apr 03: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Shri Amit Shah, on Friday welcomed the passage of the Jan Vishwas Bill, 2026 in Parliament, hailing it as India’s giant step towards accelerating ease of living and ease of business.
In a post on X, Shri Amit Shah said, “The passage of the Jan Vishwas Bill 2026 in the Parliament is India’s giant step towards accelerating ease of living and ease of business. Cutting down on several legal provisions, it makes Modi Ji’s vision of New India a grand reality by making life easier and business simpler for all.”
The Jan Vishwas (Amendment of Provisions) Bill, 2026, which has been passed by both Houses of Parliament, amends 784 provisions across 79 Central Acts administered by 23 Ministries, decriminalizing 717 provisions to promote Ease of Doing Business while amending 67 provisions to facilitate Ease of Living. The Bill seeks to rationalize more than 1,000 offences by removing minor offences, thereby improving the regulatory environment and enabling a more conducive ecosystem for businesses and citizens alike.
