Bandipora– A high-level delegation of JKTF and J&K EJAC leadership met with the worthy District Development Commissioner Bandipora, Mr. Shakeel ul Rehman (IAS), in his office chamber at the Mini Secretariat Bandipora. Chief Spokesperson J&K EJAC/JKTF Mir Bashir Ahmad , representing the delegation, discussed crucial issues concerning teachers and proposed several important suggestions for the effective implementation of NEP 2020.Mir Bashir commended the SED J&K, led by Alok Kumar (IRS), and the leadership of Director School Education Kashmir, Dr. Tassaduk Hussain Mir (KAS). He emphasized that for the successful implementation of the new policy and proper rationalization of manpower, it is essential to detach teachers from high reaches and Gurez who are currently attached on different grounds in Hajin, Sumbal, Bandipora, and other parts of the valley for over a decade. He stated that addressing this issue before the ATD link is made available would help the administration tackle the shortage of teachers in Gurez and resolve the policy lacuna regarding language, which directly affects the students’ learning process. Mir Bashir highlighted, “We have a large number of teachers from Gurez deployed in other parts of the valley. Students in Gurez are not familiar with English or Kashmiri; their mother tongue is Sheena. Therefore, as per the NEP 2020, the mother tongue plays an important role in achieving the best learning outcomes. Today, I requested our DDC Sahib to rationalize the teaching staff keeping in view the student-centric policy NEP 2020. We have a large number of teachers from Bandipora, Sumbal, Hajin posted in Gurez to meet the requirements in schools, while a significant number of teachers hailing from this area are deployed away from their homes. It is crucial to detach them and send them back to their original place of postings. This way, we shall be able to find a workable solution to the problems of both teachers and students.”Regarding infrastructural gaps, he requested the worthy District Development Commissioner Bandipora to review and audit the infrastructure and halted buildings, and earmark budgetary support for schools to provide a suitable environment for students. The worthy DDC assured prompt action and sought the active involvement of EJAC leadership in the process.Mir also praised the Chief Education Officer and his team for their significant achievements in streamlining the derailed process, expressing hope for more initiatives in the coming days. Earlier, the team met Dr. G.M. Pujju in his office and felicitated his accounts section team for working even on Sunday to clear Time Bound files. Special appreciation was given to Mr. Shafeeq Ahmad, Jr Assistant accounts section, for his exemplary dedication, clearing all files as per the schedule, and working beyond office hours, including holidays.Addressing important issues, Mir demanded a teacher-friendly ATD and requested the esteemed CEO to ensure localized and suitable postings for teachers, along with the complete detachment of long-standing attachments. Ameen Khan, J&K EJAC and JK Teachers Forum is making all efforts to represent the employees’ fraternity effectively.
