Jammu witnesses the inauguration of a cutting-edge information dissemination platform by Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, praising the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) for its proactive initiatives.
Today in Jammu, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha inaugurated the revamped portal of the Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR), marking a significant leap in efficient communication strategies. The Lt Governor lauded the department’s tireless efforts in facilitating seamless access to information regarding the government’s policies, programs, and latest ventures for media outlets.
Underlining the portal’s advancements, the Lt Governor emphasized its various novel features aimed at enhancing diverse modes of communication, such as press releases, fact sheets, images, and infographics. These improvements are envisioned to streamline the existing information dissemination system, ultimately reducing the time taken to circulate accurate and authentic information.
During the event, the Lt Governor took a moment to bid farewell to the outgoing Chief Secretary, Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, applauding his unwavering commitment and dedication in carrying out responsibilities impartially.
Expressing gratitude, Lt Governor Sinha extended appreciation to the Haryana Government for their support and collaboration in developing the new portal, acknowledging the invaluable contribution from Shri V. Umashankar, Principal Secretary of Citizen Resources Information Department, Government of Haryana, who participated in the inauguration via video conference.
Highlighting the portal’s key features, Ms. Prerna Puri, Commissioner Secretary to Government, Information Department, emphasized the “Subscribe to Press Release” feature, enabling the public to receive notifications on their mobile devices. Moreover, she shed light on the integration of a Rebuttal Mechanism, crucial in combating false or misleading news in real-time.
The event witnessed the presence of dignitaries including Dr. Arun Kumar Mehta, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretaries, Administrative Secretaries, and senior officials from the Civil and Police Administration.
The unveiling of this advanced portal underscores the administration’s commitment to fostering transparent and efficient communication channels, bolstering the dissemination of accurate and timely information to the public and media alike.
