Expresses Grief Over Doda Deaths; Says NDRF, SDRF, Police and Army on High Alert, Damage Assessment Underway**

SRINAGAR, July 20: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday reviewed the situation arising from heavy rains, flash floods and landslides that have affected several districts across Jammu and Kashmir and directed senior officials to ensure swift relief measures and speedy restoration of damaged infrastructure.
The Lieutenant Governor spoke with senior officials to assess the impact of the inclement weather and instructed the administration to expedite rescue, relief and restoration works in all affected areas.
Expressing deep grief over the loss of two lives in Doda district, the Lieutenant Governor conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families.
In a post on X, Manoj Sinha said he had reviewed the situation with senior officials and was closely monitoring the impact of the heavy rains, flash floods and landslides across the Union Territory.
He said emergency response teams, including the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), Jammu and Kashmir Police and the Army, have been deployed and remain on high alert in vulnerable areas to deal with any emergency.
The Lieutenant Governor said road connectivity has been substantially restored, with key roads in Poonch, Rajouri, Reasi and Udhampur reopened for traffic, while efforts are continuing to restore drinking water supply in several affected areas.
He further directed field teams to carry out an urgent assessment of the damage caused to residential houses and public infrastructure so that relief and rehabilitation measures can be taken without delay.
The administration has assured that all necessary assistance will be extended to affected families as restoration work continues across the rain-hit districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
