Police Action Yields a Massive Haul Valued at 300 Crores in the International Black Market

Ramban 1st Oct, In a significant breakthrough, Ramban police announced the successful dismantling of a narco-terror module, seizing a colossal 30 kilograms of cocaine in the process. The operation, conducted on the night of September 30, 2023, marks a significant victory in the ongoing battle against drug-related crime.
Under the leadership of SSP Ramban, Mohita, and her dedicated team, the interception took place at Railway Chowk Banihal. The target of their operation was an Innova vehicle with the registration number HR2W-4925, heading from Kashmir to Jammu. The search led to the astonishing discovery of 30 kilograms of cocaine, valued at a staggering 300 crores in the international black market. Additionally, two individuals were apprehended in connection with the case.
FIR No. 242/2023 under sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act now stands registered at P/S Banihal, initiating a thorough investigation into the matter.
This operation, rooted in intelligence provided by SSP Ramban and her vigilant team, signifies the relentless efforts undertaken to combat drug smugglers and peddlers. Their dedication has already resulted in the apprehension of numerous notorious individuals involved in the illegal drug trade.
In a damning indictment of the scale of the issue, statistics reveal a total of 104 cases registered in 2022 and 36 in 2023 to date. These cases have yielded a significant quantity of seized contraband, including 2500 kilograms of poppy straw, 30 kilograms of cocaine, 10 kilograms of charas, 200 grams of heroin, and 200 tablets. The arrests of 158 accused individuals and the detention of 3 under the PIT NDPS further highlight the commitment of Ramban police to eradicating this menace.
The seizure of 30 kilograms of cocaine serves as a stark reminder of the ongoing challenges posed by the illicit drug trade, and the relentless pursuit of justice by law enforcement agencies remains steadfast in the face of this threat.
