Tanveer Wani Kulgam, February 20, 2024: Rakesh Asthana, IPS (Retd.), Special Monitor of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), conducted a visit to Vessu, Kashmiri Pandit Colony. The visit aimed to engage with the colony’s inhabitants, attentively listening to their issues and demands.Accompanied by DIG South Kashmir, Altaf Ahmad Khan; Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan; Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid; and SSP Kulgam, Sahil Sarangal, the Special Monitor had a detailed discussion with the colony’s residents. The meeting covered various issues, and Deputy Commissioner Kulgam provided an update on the current status of migrant colonies in Mirhama, Chawgam, and Vessu.
