Northern Commander Urges Troops to Sustain Operation Tempo During Visit to Counter-Insurgency Divisions

BuzzBytes SRINAGAR, Feb 24: Lieutenant General M V Suchindra Kumar, the Northern Commander of the Indian Army, emphasized the need for maintaining the operational tempo during his visit to the two counter-insurgency divisions – Victor Force and Kilo Force. These divisions are part of the Srinagar-based 15 Corps, also known as Chinar Corps.Accompanied by Chinar Corps Commander Lieutenant General Rajiv Ghai, Lt Gen Kumar received briefings on the counter-terrorist grid, soldier-citizen connect, and operational preparedness during his visit. The Northern Commander, who took charge on February 19, expressed appreciation for the operational alacrity of the formations and urged all ranks to sustain the operational tempo.This visit marks Lt Gen Kumar’s first trip to Kashmir since assuming the position of the General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GOC-in-C), Northern Command. Over the past three days, he conducted extensive reviews of security along the Line of Control (LoC) and in Kashmir’s hinterland.During his visit, Lt Gen Kumar visited forward posts along the LoC in Kupwara and Baramulla districts, interacting with soldiers and gaining insights into the ground situation. On a strategic level, he held a meeting with Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police RR Swain and other senior security officials to discuss security preparations for the coming months. The visit underscores the ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and maintain a robust security apparatus in the region.
