In response to the Supreme Court’s ruling on J&K’s special status, PM Modi emphasized that Article 370’s abrogation was crucial for the region’s development. He stated in a Hindi newspaper interview that no power in the universe can restore Article 370, citing the court’s approval that two legislations cannot coexist in one country. Modi highlighted the importance of the decision for the people of Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, emphasizing its necessity for their development and improved quality of life, while criticizing its previous misuse for political interests. He asserted that the common people of the region are not aligned with selfish politics and expressed determination against any attempts to revive Article 370.
