Srinagar, Dec 07 Buzzbytes: In a poignant moment during the Lok Sabha proceedings, Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation, Amit Shah, shed light on Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s compassionate response to the plight of families who migrated from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir to Jammu and Kashmir post the 1965 and 1971 wars.

Amit Shah expressed that PM Modi, with profound empathy, wiped away the tears of thousands of families who endured the hardships of displacement. He disclosed that in 1947, a total of 31,779 families were forced to leave their homes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. Out of this staggering number, 26,319 families found refuge in Jammu and Kashmir, while 5,460 families resettled in various other parts of the country.
