BuzzBytes Bengaluru, Nov 25:Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Friday, embarked on a sortie aboard the Tejas aircraft, heralding a significant milestone in India’s journey towards self-reliance. The experience not only bolstered the Prime Minister’s confidence in the nation’s indigenous capabilities but also instilled a renewed sense of pride and optimism about India’s vast potential.

Taking to the social media platform X, PM Modi shared his reflections on the sortie, stating, “Successfully completed a sortie on the Tejas.” He went on to express that the experience was “incredibly enriching,” underscoring the strides made in indigenous capabilities and generating a renewed sense of national pride and optimism.
“Flying in Tejas today, I can say with immense pride that due to our hard work and dedication, we are no less than anyone in the world in the field of self-reliance,” asserted the Prime Minister. He extended his heartiest congratulations to the Indian Air Force, DRDO, HAL, and all Indians for this significant achievement.
Modi’s visit to Bengaluru included a tour of the Defence PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), where he reviewed the ongoing work at its manufacturing facilities. This visit aligns with the Prime Minister’s consistent emphasis on promoting indigenous production of defence products, showcasing how his government has not only bolstered their manufacturing in India but also facilitated their exports.
The Tejas aircraft, a light combat marvel, has garnered international interest, with several countries expressing their intent to procure it. During Modi’s recent state visit to the US, a pact between US defence giant GE Aerospace and HAL was inked to jointly produce engines for the Mk-II-Tejas.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, earlier this year in April, proudly announced that India’s defence exports had reached an all-time high of Rs 15,920 crore in 2022-2023. This remarkable achievement underscores the country’s commitment to self-reliance and positions India as a significant player in the global defence arena. The Tejas sortie by PM Modi stands as a testament to India’s prowess in developing cutting-edge defence capabilities and marks a triumphant step towards a self-reliant future.
