The crux of the contention lies in JKBOSE’s decision to “tag” students from unrecognized private schools with neighboring government institutions. This move by the educational board aims to streamline educational processes and possibly ensure standardized education across the region.

However, the JKPSA vehemently opposes this decision, viewing it as an infringement on the autonomy and operational freedom of private educational institutions. Protesters expressed concerns that such a move could disrupt the continuity of education for students and undermine the role of private schools in the educational landscape.

The protest witnessed a significant turnout, with members of the JKPSA gathering to voice their concerns and demand a reconsideration of the tagging policy. The situation remains tense as stakeholders await further dialogue between the private school association and JKBOSE to address the underlying issues and find a mutually acceptable solution.

This development underscores the ongoing challenges and debates surrounding educational policies and affiliations in the region, highlighting the need for constructive engagement and collaboration among all stakeholders.
