Series of events held by departments, institutions across the district

Ramban, October 2:District Administration Ramban today celebrated Gandhi Jayanti with national fervour and enthusiasm to pay rich tributes to the father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi Ji besides launching a cleanliness campaign on this occasion at many places in the district.
At a district level function held at the Conference hall of District Administrative Complex to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Harbans Lal along with senior officers and officials pay rich tributes to the Mahatma Gandhi Ji on his 154 birth anniversary.
The ADC, ACR Gias Ul Haq, CPO, Dr. Kasturi Lal, ACD Ashok Singh Katoch and various senior officers along with officials of different departments also took the pledge for maintaining Peace and Communal Harmony on the occasion.
Meanwhile, District Social Welfare Office, Rahul Gupta also administered a pledge to participants under Nasha Mukht Abhiyan.
Speaking on the occasion, ADC said that under the aegis of the Deputy Commissioner Ramban, Mussarat Islam various departments and institutions conducted more than four thousand cleanliness drives and other events across the district to pay tributes to Shri Mahatma Gandhi ji as part of Sankalp Saptah campaign.
Recalling contributions of Mahatma Gandhi ji in the freedom struggle and described Gandhi as a great visionary personality of the world, the ADC said that the Gandhi ji was an apostle of non-violence and a staunch peace lover. The United Nations has declared this day as International Non Violence Day, thus recognizing contributions and philosophy of Gandhi ji which is more relevant in the current scenario across the world.
Similar functions were also conducted at Sub-divisional, Tehsil, Block and office levels in which various departments took part in ‘Swachhata Abhiyan’ besides recalling our commitment to keep our area neat and clean besides improving the green cover on the earth.
Similarly functions were also held at Sub-division Tehsil and institutions levels across the district.
Whereas, various Educational Intuitions have organized awareness rallies and other informative events in which students of various Government and Private schools participated.
