Naidkhai: Senior National Conference leader Hilal Akbar Lone launched a sharp attack on MP Engineer Rashid during a youth convention in Naidkhai on Friday, claiming that Rashid is an agent of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
As he kick-started his election campaign for the upcoming assembly polls, Lone cautioned the public against being swayed by hollow and emotional slogans, recalling how similar sentiments were manipulated during the recent parliamentary elections.
Lone issued a direct challenge to Engineer Rashid, demanding that he prove his innocence if he isn’t working as a BJP agent. He further alleged that Rashid is receiving favorable treatment in jail, unlike others arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).
“Engineer Rashid has been making video calls from jail, a privilege not extended to others. This clearly indicates that he is acting as a proxy for the BJP to weaken the National Conference in Jammu and Kashmir,” Lone asserted.
During his speech, Lone appealed to the people of Ajas to support him in the assembly elections, promising to change their destiny as he had done in Sonawari.
The youth convention saw a significant turnout, with hundreds of youth from Sonawari and prominent faces from the party in attendance.
