Srinagar, March 9:
Schools across the Kashmir Valley reopened on Monday after the long winter vacation, with students of primary and middle classes returning to classrooms and academic activities resuming across the region.
According to the academic calendar followed in the Valley, students from Classes 1 to 8 reported to their respective schools as educational institutions reopened following the seasonal winter break.
School authorities across various districts said necessary arrangements had been made to ensure the smooth resumption of classes, while teachers prepared to restart regular academic sessions after the prolonged closure.
The reopening marks the beginning of academic activities for younger students after the winter vacation that is observed annually due to the harsh weather conditions in the region.
During winter months, heavy snowfall and freezing temperatures often disrupt normal life in the Valley, prompting authorities to suspend classroom teaching to ensure the safety and convenience of students.
Officials said schools are expected to witness full attendance as students return to campuses and normal academic routines resume.
Teachers said the initial days after reopening are usually devoted to helping students readjust to classroom learning and revising previously covered lessons before moving ahead with the syllabus.
Parents have also welcomed the reopening of schools, saying that returning to classrooms will help children regain study discipline after the extended winter break.
With schools reopening, the familiar morning activity around educational institutions across the Valley has resumed, with students attending assemblies and regular academic sessions after the seasonal closure.
