Srinagar 2nd Feb:State Election Commissioner (SEC), Braj Raj Sharma, led a meeting to review the revised schedule for the Panchayat Electoral Roll-2024 in Jammu and Kashmir. During the meeting, the SEC assessed the district-wise progress in updating the electoral roll. To facilitate this process, the period for filing claims, objections, additions, deletions, corrections, and transpositions has been extended until February 12, 2024. Additional special camps at polling booth locations are scheduled for February 10 and 11. The SEC emphasized the need for officials to expedite the updating process and mobilize booth-level officers to guide electors. The final publication of the electoral roll is slated for March 3, 2024. This decision reflects the SEC’s commitment to ensuring an accurate and up-to-date electoral roll for the upcoming Panchayat elections, reinforcing the democratic process in the region.
