The arrested individuals include Imtiyaz Ahmed Khanday, Mehnan Khan, and Danish Ahmed Malla, who were involved in the attack on Police Constable Muhammad Hafiz Chak in Bemina on December 9. The injured constable is reported to be in stable condition.

Danish Malla, alleged to be the mastermind, orchestrated the conspiracy to target off-duty policemen. Two Turkey-made pistols, identified as Canik TP09, along with magazines and rounds, were seized from the arrested individuals.

The arrested terrorists were affiliated with Lashkar-e-Toiba/TRF. Investigations revealed that the module had compiled a long list of policemen to be targeted in their operations.

DGP RR Swain highlighted the method of delivering lightweight weapons like Turkey-made pistols, suggesting they are dropped from drones and smuggled through other means into Jammu and Kashmir.

The case is being closely monitored by the National Investigation Agency (NIA), investigating potential connections to the killing of Police Inspector Masroor Ahmed Wani.

DGP RR Swain commended the police force for their professional handling of the Bemina Cop attack case, emphasizing the importance of dismantling the terrorist module dedicated to targeting law enforcement personnel.
