Yet the people’s response – providing shelter to survivors and assisting rescue efforts – demonstrates their true spirit of hospitality and rejection of violence.
This tragedy has also revealed the nation’s maturity in preventing misguided backlash. The swift measures to protect Kashmiri students and traders across India, including Chief Minister Abdullah’s proactive outreach, show our collective determination to uphold justice without compromising our democratic values. Such solidarity, not vengeance, must define our response to terrorism. The terrorists sought to divide; India must respond by standing united.
